The Sassella area includes
just under 120 hectares of
terraced vineyards between the
municipalities of Castione
Andevenno and Sondrio.
The name Sassella refers to the importance of the particularly iron-rich rocky outcrops on which a smaller layer of earth rests. The altitude of the vineyards ranges from 300 m a.s.l. near the sanctuary of the same name up to 630 m a.s.l. of those in the hamlet of Piatta.
The wines of this area are recognized for their particular elegance and aptitude for aging. Our vineyards are located in the “Grigioni” hamlet (municipality of Castione), in correspondence with the Sassella sanctuary and in Triasso (municipality of Sondrio).
